Eitetsu Terakado

  • Graduated with an Economics degree and worked my first job in sales for the company that makes Yukari furikake.
  • Inspired by the manga "King's Viking", self-taught to become a security engineer.
  • Worked in web, blockchain, and mobile security before joining CADDi in January 2025.

入社した経緯|Why you joined CADDi

One of the crucial motivation behind joining CADDi was that security wasn't an afterthought in CADDi. A difficulty I faced in many organization I've worked with was trying to educated and cultivate a culture of security into the organization. Security is often seen as a blocker or burden to the developer experience. However at CADDi, security was established and well respected which was something I've never experienced before.

What you have done/you are doing at CADDi

My responsibility at CADDi as a product security engineer is to introduce and ensure security throughout the development lifecycle. Some days I will be reading the ADR or design docs to identify threats and security risks beforehand. Other days I could be performing security testing to ensure the application or feature is secure for release. This is a small part of what I do and although cliché, there is not a single day that is the same and it is the product security engineer's responsibility to engineer security solutions that is scalable and impactful without hindering the developer experience.

キャディエンジニアとして働く上で「難しくて面白いこと」|What CADDi's Engineers are trying to innovate

CADDi's engineer drive innovation by working outside of their comfort zone and knowing when to stop. Engineers at CADDi challenged themselves to use technology that is suited for the system and not technology that they are comfortable with. But because time is also limited, they know how much time to spend on a proof of concept and stop when needed. Even if something ends as a proof of concept, the experience is not a wasted effort and learning sessions are held to share their experiences with other engineers.

趣味や休日の過ごし方|What are your hobbies and how do you spend your days off?

I usually spend my days off cursing at myself because I'm in a losing streak in chess or I'm continuously falling on the same part of a rock climbing route.
